His back two feet have been worsening in damage with possible bones showing, and I’ve seen him jerk to the side as if spasming at times. His water is at 7.6 PH, 0 ppm ammonia, 0 ppm nitrites, and 5 ppm nitrates. I use a test tube kit to find this out. I try to keep his water at 65-69 degrees, but with it being summer it sometimes gets to like 72 degrees. I try to cool it off when I catch this though. I have had him for three years with no changes to his environment or water conditioner. I got him from Ivy’s axolotls. I clean/change his water every weekend. I feed him one good sized earthworm daily, if not every other day.

try to reduce temperature, ideal is 15°c/59°f-18°c/64°f, 15°c/59°f being best.
damage done to rear digits probably due to scrambling and trying to grip, add 2g/l non-iodised salt to help prevent infection, if tubbing tub using ceramic glass or pyrex rather than plastic to try to prevent infection.
feed varied balanced diet including eyed food ie.. shrimp fish etc.. to benefit health and aid healing.
test kh gh if possible to ensure good mineral level.
