Axies Do Dallas

Went to the Dallas World Aquarium last weekend with some friends, and they had a HUGE axolotl tank. I couldn't get a picture of the whole thing - too dark - but I did manage to get a couple of shots of the inhabitants. Looks like they were all wildtype; and I'd say there were about 10-12 axies in the tank (like I said, it was huge - about two feet deep, and nearly ten feet long. It was set into a "rock" wall in a hallway as you went from snakes and frogs down into an underwater viewing area).

Anyway, enjoy:

This little guy looks like he's in the corner for bad behavior:

My friends thought I was crazy for going...well...crazy...over the axies and the dart frogs. They all wanted to know what an axolotl was, so I told them, and when we found the tank, they all just said, "Hmmm. Ok."

Dear All, I would appreciate some help identifying P. waltl disease and treatment. We received newts from Europe early November and a few maybe 3/70 had what it looked like lesions under the legs- at that time we thought maybe it was the stress of travel- now we think they probably had "red leg syndrome" (see picture). However a few weeks later other newts started to develop skin lesions (picture enclosed). The sender recommended to use sulfamerazine and we have treated them 2x and we are not sure they are all recovering. Does anyone have any experience with P. waltl diseases and could give some input on this? Any input would be greatly appreciated! Thank you.
