got it set up after the move, had to keep the axies in the fridge while the tank started it's first few days of cycling. all the sand and rocks and plants were the same, and I only moderately cleaned the filter so i risked introduction at 3 days, some salt, some baking soda, its been 2 weeks and its pretty much balanced out.

i added some bladderwort (i think) and something like duckweed from the nearby oxbow and that introduced lots of small lifeforms including cocopods, shrimp, daphnea, nematodes and midge larvae.

figured later i would go gather some more.

Oh Wow! That setup looks fantastic.

And what a gorgeous bunch of axies - they look so very happy.

You must have been exhausted - I hope you rewarded yourself for a big job so well done! ;)
