Axie question for friend

Hello! I'm posting this in behalf of my friend and wanted some advice. I just got a new axie and my friend instantly fell in love and wants one, she has a tank that's been cycled by goldfish and was wondering if she could use it as is to put her axolotl in, her poor fishes met their demise when she pet sitted for her sister's cat and the cat ended up making the lid of the tank break and fall in while she was at work and unfortunatly none of her fishes survived the hit. There was nothing wrong about the water parameters or anything of the sort so is it okay for her to just buy an axie and put it in there or should i tell her to just clean out the tank and start a new cycle? Im not an expert axolotl keeper so im not comfortable giving her an answer. As always any advice or info is appreciated!

Just two remarks :
- What happened to the fishes could also happen to an axolotl if the lid is the same and if the cat comes back again,
- Axolotls can suffer from some common diseases and parasites of fishes, so you'd better keep the tank empty (without animals) for 4 to 5 weeks (a sort of quarantine),

Thank you for your response and we definetly thought that too, she had a mesh cover before and got a sturdier cover for the tank now (one that is solid) and also moved her tank to a different part of her house where her cat is not allowed to go in anymore to keep it safe. We are both hoping that this situation never happens again. But thank you for the tip about quarentining the water ! We'll try that and take the water to get tested at our aquarium store to make sure it all looks right
