I have 2 axies, Hikari and Yami. They both lived in the same tank. However, several months ago I found out they fight a lot, so what I took away their hiding place and separated them, same tank, just a divider.

They both were eating fine till one day, Yami start acting up. She only will have one small piece of nightcrawler, then she will turn around and not eat anymore. Of course things get worst. She only willing to eat like once a week with just one small pieces of nightcrawler, and Hikari was eating fine.

So before new year, I finally take out the divider and put back their hiding place and have a new external filter. I didn't try to feed them yet but Yami situation bothers me. I am not sure should I bring her to the exotic specialist or not.

She do really poop, and she seems like still in her original size, not skinny at all. Should I just wait for a bit and see how things work? I think she was upset because I took away her hiding place and separated her with Hikari even though they fight a lot...

Maybe you can try switching up their food if that is what you're worried about. Try blood worms or an earthworm for a day or two.

Have you tested the parameters for ammonia, nitrite, nitrate, PH and temperature? When you replaced the filter, did you keep any of the old media or replace the filter media as well? Replacing the filter entirely may have crashed your cycle.

Hey everyone, just want a little advice. Its 55 - 60 celcius in my Salamanders tank. Hes curled up and tyring ti bury himself, Im assuming hes too cold. I was wondering if he would benefit from a heated rock cave (since he LOVES his cave) that I could set on low? I NEVER see him curled up and trying to bury himself unless his tank sits at 63 degrees celcius or lower. So I am assuming hes a little uncomfortable.

He also seems a little sluggish, again, assuming hes cold. Having heating trouble with the new house right now. What do we think? Was thinking of grabbing this for him since its got very low, medium, and higher medium heat settings that exude heat downward inside the rock cave but ALSO exudes it UPWARDS outside of the rock cave, effectively keeping the tank itself a little warm. Seems like it miiiight be a little small for him though, my guy is about 7 inches from tip of his nose tothe tip of his tail.
