Hi all,

I bought these eggs a couple of days ago, literally had them delivered wednesday, and i wasnt sure about them then but now im even more concerned!!

They do not look alive or good at all, quite a few werent in eggs when i got them and were clearly dead but i left them in water for another day to be sure, but theyre positively dead. The eggs are now looking a little foggy maybe and the babies in them look deformed, or just... not right.

Please help, im gutted, bought them from somebody on here and hope i didnt buy a load of dead eggs!

Thanks,
Sian:(

They... Don't look right...

How were they shipped? I had some eggs shipped back in November that looked similar. they were shipped priority. We ended up having warmer weather than anticipated and I believe my eggs got too hot. Out of forty eggs, only seven were viable by the time I received them...

Literally got here next morning in a lil plastic tub. Spose it was quite warm tuesday but who knows if thats what the problem is, im just not sure, but so gutted! Thanks guys, guess i'm just going to have to try again or find a female and breed my own with my males.

Thanks!

I would remove the obviously dead ones and do a water change with dechlorinated water. Place the container somewhere cool and wait and see, you may yet have some survivores :D

Don't give up on trying to raise eggs, maybe see if there is another batch available.

And just in case you haven't read this, here is some very useful information :- Axolotls - Rearing from Egg to Adult

They don't look well at all. The foggy egg usually means dead or infertile eggs. Did the person ship with a ice pack or even a small bag with cubed ice? any type of cooling method would have helped a little. Who did you purchase them from, maybe they will be kind enough to send you more using a better method or even give you your money back. Keep the eggs that are not completely foggy or broken you never know a few may still have a chance.

Best of luck:happy:

The seller contacted me and gave me a full refund, was very good about it all, unfortunately no survivors at all, all the eggs started going mouldy and the babies were completely white etc, all dead for definite

And i dont know where to look to find more eggs to try again to be honest.

Thanks all!

Eggs are usually quite tough and mostly get where there going fine.

I've sent and received eggs fine (even the odd hatchling has survived if hatched early whilst in the post)

I suspect rough handling or too high temps have caused your problem.
Most egg sellers would be fine and understand its not foolproof and there may be casualties.

I'd have a look on ebay or on here for some more. :D
Dont give up yet

Mel
