I took in an axie from a pet store who was dumped there. They'd put him in a tank with some fish and he list all his gill floofs and they also ate away at his tail/fin. He's been here a week now and I can't figure out what this guy will eat. My qxie that I've had since she was about 4 inches eats ANYTHING. I've tried red wrigglers and night crawlers and he just spits them out and refuses to eat them. He ate a couple of axie pellets but now seems to not care for them, I also tried some generic carnivore pellets. I gave him some blood worms and he ate a few but left most of them. He's not starved looking but I'm afraid he'll get that way if I can't figure out what to feed him. Any suggestions would be awesome!

any luck yet getting your axolotl to eat? Generally red wigglers and european nightcrawlers are the most nutritionally balanced so if you can get him to eat those, that will be best (try blanching them in hot water first and then let them cool then before feeding). Another good option I use for pick eaters is repashy grub pie. It smells disgusting, but they love it. It's high in fat too and can help get their appetite going. Axolotls can go quite a while without eating so if it's only been a few days, I wouldnt be too worried yet. It sounds like he's has a pretty stressful time of it so give him time to settle in.
