What incredible photos Jim!
What camera do you use?
May I borrow one of the pictures at a later date for use on a webpage I'm still working on?
I would of course give you full reference to it.

what is the last picture is that some sort of a breeding set up

what's that on the floor? It''s not gravel. (It looks like slow release plant fertiliser!)

The last picture is a Barracks for keeping Siamese Fighting Fish in - you can't keep more than one male together y'see. In this case the owner is keeping killifish in them.

As you can see, the filtration is run by the canister connected to the sump, and pumps it back to the top.

A lot of people use this method for breeding, as you can see all your males and pick the best for qualities you want to breed.

Hi Jin,
Great photos.
Your set up for Fighter Fish is
very impressive as well.
Cheers,
Chris.

brilliant, that fighting fortress would be well good when you get baby axies, so you could pick out the interesting color varients in the juveniles, and pick them out, and then grow them on in the seperate sections of the fortress!

is the killie fish baracks homemade or bought? it looks a lot nicer than most betta barraks i have seen.

Good photography of your axolotl, especially the gill pic. You can use photo skills to document axolotl very well.

the killifish barracks and betta towers discussion is getting a little off topic people.

Ed

well, we are talking about how the barracks would be good for raising young axies, and that doesnt seem off topic at all. its a forum, about findong out stuff you didnt know.

Alex,

The pictures about the barracks were posted with no discussion about use for rearing. The discussion was initially on picking and choosing killifish breeders. Nine posts later there is an offhand comment on its possible use as for rearing axolotls..... I waited to see if there was anything of value being added and there was no information supplied on how this could be accomplished, whether keeping the rack at the proper temperatures could be difficult etc. A comment 9 posts later doesn't justify its original posting. This site is for learning about caudates, food for caudates, and other aspects of caudate care. This is not the site for random pictures, discussion on dogs, ferrets or anything else with fur, feathers or scales.

I would suggest either taking this back to caudates or I will close the thread and delete all offtopic discussion and pictures.

Ed
