It is a pity I am unable to upload sound files!
This evening, I observed a juvenile female T. dobrogicus emmiting a sort of underwater squeak. The newts were being fed nightcrawlers and the older female grabbed the worm with such speed she accidentaly grabbed unto the tail of the juvenile with it! At that point, a very audiable squeak emmited from the juvenile as she tried to break loose from the adult female's over enthusiastic bite. Fortunately there was no repetition and the juvenile had no injuries.
A very distinct underwater "scream" If I might add. Freaky. Not to be confused with the sounds they make when they are taken out of water. The closest approximation I could compare it/ mimic with is like when you kiss/suck your hand.
