at last its up n running!
i built this tank 3-4 months ago before i moved house so it is very pleasing to finally have it finished!
my axie is in there(hiding behind the "rocks" on the left lol:

wow thats one of the best tanks ive seen. how i you make the background? ive read it somewhere but i cant find the post :S nice sand too. it must look great with a white axoltol.
 
i think it looks awesome just the way it is. i am SO jealous, ive been reading for ages on those polystyrene decorations trying to get up the courage to have a go but i suck at art so i know itll just turn out dumb

just takes a bit o time (waiting for the different layers to dry)

it looks rubbish till you put the pond sealent on then its breath taking!!!!!

do you use big cubes of it? because all i can find is the flat sheets. and the odd piece of packaging from household appliances
 
i used wall insulation it came from the builders section of my local hardware store? i got a 8'x4'x4" for £19.99 then cut it into 4 sections. when you start cutting big bits out keep hold of them! you can stick 2 bits together using aquarium silicone!this is how i made the big bouldery bit to the right!

also the bits you get from electrical appliances is brilliant as it has all sorts of shapes and angles!
