I have noticed that one of my jelly egg sacks has two babies in it, is this a normal occurence. I thought it was two sacks joined together, but was a bright sunny day and the brightness made it possible to see all the jellies and there is def two in it.

Re: Is twins normal?

I've seen photos of it on here before - I don't know how rare it is though. hopefully they'll both develop ok :) can you post a pic??

I think they're pretty normal in axie eggs. I've had 2 twins :) (oh and it also was my first batch) and I've seen lots of photos with axie twins in it. Now I'm waiting for triplets :D

They seem to be a pretty regular occurace. I had 4 sets in my last batch. 2 sets didn't develop 1 set only one developed and the final set both did well. One was a little ahead of the other so the smaller twin was a little underdeveloped when the bigger one hatched. Both did well and survived but I did think I would lose the smaller of the 2 but nope. I'd still have both (non identical) if my oldest son hadn't accidentally tipped the bigger one into it's parents tank where it was promptly eaten by it's mother

So yeah pretty common and hopefully both of yours will develop nicely.

For the first time in 5 years I had 2 cells in one egg but 1 didn´t develop. So I have never had a twin before in the 5 years I am breeding axolotls.
