Are these food dishes safe for Axies?

re-link... the one provided isn't working ;)

Much better! This is what I found about the dishes, which sounds like a go to me!

  • Constructed of foamed polystyrene! Does not release dangerous toxic residues into the water.
  • Moulded "stairs" prevent drowning of smaller reptiles and amphibians.
  • Smooth non-pitted, non-porous surface will not absorb bacteria, stain or leak, making it a cinch to clean.
  • Super Strong! Will not break when accidentally dropped!

Awesome! I thought they looked good, but when I asked to just to be safe, well, you know how knowledgeable Petland employees are, LOL. My favorite was when the one employee told me that she thought they SHOULD be okay, but if they weren't, to let her know. Um.... no, I'm NOT using my axies as guinea pigs without getting more info, but thanks anyway, lol!

Thanks Ashley, I appreciate it! :) I tried feeding jars, but my two kept getting confused and trying to enter them from the solid back, lol. Thought these might work better, AND look better, plus I have more options as to where in the tank I put them!

I might actually be using the same, if not similar product! You'll probably have the same problem that I did.. the "I can't see it but I can smell it" shark-circling around the dish! I want that sand to come in already!! Lol

LOL! I thought of that, but figured I'd give it a try! I figure if I put some bloodworms in and some beside it to start, they might get the idea. If not, I'll wait until they're big enough for the sand and use them then! I did buy two, so I can have one for each axie at opposite ends of the tank, in hopes of avoiding any conflict over food, but we shall see!

Soooo, just tried putting the dishes in the tank, and they FLOAT!! Guess I'm going with the Exo-Terra ones after all, LOL!
