So its been 3 days now and just wanted to update you all on the eggs I have. I now have 12 eggs altogether, separated into 2 groups. Five that I'm quite unsure about and are still round and then in the other container there are 7 that look more bean shaped but have changed colour. Is colour changing normal when the eggs change shape from round to bean? I'll add some pictures of both containers. The past few days the containers were kept at about 15 degrees (i couldn't find a lamp so i had to go out and buy one) and now the temperatures are at a solid 18 degress for the past few hours. I have ordered bbs eggs online, I bought 6 bags of approx. 6 grams of bbs eggs per bag. How much is that in terms of how long the babies will be eating them? How long will the babies eat bbs? Sorry for the long-winded post, this is my first time raising eggs at all and need all the help I can get! :D:p

Colour change is normal - dark eggs lighten up, white eggs go creamy. They look normal to me.

How long since they were laid? Shape change should be apparent at somewhere towards the end of the first week. If they appear furry they may not be viable, but at about 10-12 days you should see a definite head and tail end If you haven't seen it already have a look here at the development sequence - yours may be a day or 2 behind at 15C - mine are at the equivalent of day 6 and they were laid 8 days ago, kept at 17C.

15C is fine for hatching axie eggs, you shouldn't need to warm them up any, they just take a little longer to hatch (maybe up to 20 days instead of 12-14). But you may need a lamp for hatching BBS, they really require over 22C for quick and reliable hatching.

There's no telling how many BBS you will need until your babies hatch! In general it's better to give them plenty and throw away uneaten food than underfeed. I fed mine exclusively on BBS for the first 3-4 weeks, then added in daphnia for a couple of weeks, then onto chopped bloodworms. Personally I use decapsulated eggs, so I can't advise on the dry eggs in terms of quantity.

Thanks! They were dropped sometime on Friday (or late Thursday night) but I only noticed them at about 11 when I came home from work Friday. They seem much more defined this morning than when I took the pics last night. So that makes them about 4ish days old?
