Hello everyone, I love planted aquariums, and i love one in special, so I was wandering if there is by any mean possible to get something like this:

i have the Elecocharis parvula and java moss, also I have the pretty much look a like tree root, I know plants need light to grow, so I'm considering to get some floating plants to get some non-light parts where my babies can get hiding.

What do you think?

You could use it as inspiration, but make it more axolotl-friendly, it wouldn't be too hard to get creative and incorporate some hides (I wouldn't rely on the floating plants, they provide relief from light, but I'm thinking that axolotls, like many animals, would enjoy a safe hiding space where they feel they have a tactical advantage, not just sitting in a big open space).

Especially if you had a long tank, you could have the "tree" at one end, perhaps drape it down a little, maybe make a hide or two in its "roots", and have another focal point, a cave, at the other end. You could grow the moss over top of it.

i was thinking on put the tree on one side, and two hides made of coconut for my two axies in the other side, my tank is 80x40x25h, and they are like 9cm lenght. At first I was thinking on starting in one half first.

Wow. That is so beautiful! If you could make it axolotl safe it'd be great. If you choose to go ahead you have to post pictures for us when you are finished!

amazing i would really like to know how you do it and how it will look:grin:

Its a beautiful aqauscape! Perhaps if you made the hill higher you could incorporate some tunnels/hides underneath? Might make it more axie friendly :)

I'm wondering where you find a tree like that.... I want to do my tank like this now lol:D:rolleyes:

I absolutely ? it! It's fabulous, I would love to see how you put it together. I may even follow your lead.

I love planted tanks like this- my question is always how people use gravel-vacs to clean out the dirty business of their tank when there is that kind of planting or moss on the bottom in the way D:

That would be awesome. I would suggest getting some 1.5 to 2 inch PVC pipe to make tunnels and hides with under the moss. You could use marine silicon to cover it in pebbles or just cover the exterior in moss and leave the opening above the moss
