Hi,

Whilst visiting the strange yet wonderful world of Youtube looking for tank inspiration I found talk of a rubber foam mat being used as a substrate for Axolotls. Apparently it is specially made for use in aquariums. I have Googled for ages looking for it to no avail. It looked like it could be a good option as uneaten food etc would be easier to spot.

Has anyone ever heard of this stuff and if so what is the consensus about using it?

Thanks

CJ

I have been looking for the same, and I can't find it either. I'll let you know if I come across something!

Sounds similar to a high-end pond liner which the water gardens sell (from their website: "Super Liner, the worlds best") which feels quite squishy but looks incredibly resilient, and costs $18AUD per m2. Not sure if it's what you're looking for, but hopefully it'll steer you in the right direction.

I don't know what it is, in the video I saw it looked like a camping mat that had been cut to size. I might investigate the pond liner though, that sounds like a possible option.
