Photo: Aquarium invader?

I just spotted what looks like an aquatic caterpillar in one of my tanks. Does anyone know what it might be?

Cute and fuzzy! I have no idea what it is.
 
Looks like remnants of a plant to me. Of course that would be best case scenario, which in my experiences that is never the reality.
 
I´m thinking some kind of insect larva, and although this is barely more than a wild guess, it might be some sort of syrphid or perhaps even a neuropteran.
If the thing is still alive, which i´m guessing is probably not the case, try to photograph the head area, that should help.
Regardless, it´s not an invader, but rather almost certainly an unfortunate casualty.
