Apple snails as live food?

Can I feed my Ambystoma Mavortium apple snails? I guess it would be easy to culture them. I used to work in a pet shop and they were throughout the entire filter system, what a pest. anyways I was thinking maybe I could just get a 10 gallon tank and let them reproduce and use them as food? My tiger eats about anything, literally, so that's not the problem, but would he digest the shell ok? He doesn't really chew his food lol..

I used to use apple snails as food for my axolotl and they couldn't digest the shells. But they digested the snail anyway so i just went an threw out the shells during the next water chance - but to answer your question. They probably won't be able to digest uncrushed shells.
