Yup, most definitely a paddletail, possibly Pachytriton granulosus (you´ll find info under the name Pachytriton labiatus, but it´s no longer a correct name, plus it´s a different species anyway. Still, most info is under that name).

Bit of an awkward question to answer. My paddle tails share a tank, and only occasionally have disagreements. They used to fight until I added a second hiding pot annd more plastic plants.

But then there are some that have killed tank mates in the past

Im getting an emperor newt with three front feet today,and a paddle tail my tanks full of hiding spots so we shall see.
