they dont appear to be in chains-they look more singular but laid in a clump-my guess is frog, and not bufo for sure.

Man I have been trying since I was a kid (im 35 now) to find some salamander eggs...every spring going out and wading in muck and mud just to be let down....can anyone help?I moved back to North Carolina and donated my Tiger and Spotted salamanders to USF,and now I miss them all....If some one has any eggs, larvae or adults for that matter let me know.
Thanks,
Everett

Look for individually laid eggs, smaller than these, folded into leaves.

Ester, you are talking European haha, in the USA Ambystoma lay clumps of eggs.
Everett, please get a good book on salamanders of the US and Canada (like Petranka's work) that also pictures the eggs, it will help!

Notophthalmus lay thier eggs individually folded in leaves and he is well within thier range.

I do agree that aquiring a good reference text like Petranka's book would help a lot.

I also believe that those are frog eggs....

Heh.. I was thinking notophthalmus, and I might be mistaken, but North Carolina would be dorsalis range.. drool!

everett-
as a side note; its worth throwing a common object in shot for scale on ID pictures-to give the guessers something to go from. these objects can be coins, bills, your hand/finger (not the best), rulers, soda cans, house keys...etc
