I usually keep my baby brine shrimp/worms/fishing bait etc in a separate fridge to my familys food fridge, unfortunately it broke down yesterday just as i obtained fifty baby axolotls who will need live food for the next month. Having been previously banned from using our family fridge (after several regrettable incidents) i thought it was best if my wife was not aware of this breakdown and as a short term solution. i could store my baby brine shrimp in a green beer bottle which i then could hide at the back of the fridge. I spent the afternoon cleaning out and reorganising a couple of my tanks and having a few beers being careful not to drink the one on the left handside at the back. I though nothing of it when my dearly beloved wandered past with a bottle of beer, you can obviously guess the rest, the sound of retching, threats of physical retribution and me banned from the marital bed. I suppose i might of got of a bit more lightly if 1. hadnt laughed so much and 2. if she hadnt just read this post. lol, life eh!

ha ha ha ha lol oh your poor wife!! ok think I would have chucked you out well and truly!!! I am in a similar position that my hubby does not get my fascination with my amphibians at all BUT i have been lucky and he has tolerated a lot although the beer thing ummm your on your own lol!! I would post on freecycle quick smart :D

Dear All, I would appreciate some help identifying P. waltl disease and treatment. We received newts from Europe early November and a few maybe 3/70 had what it looked like lesions under the legs- at that time we thought maybe it was the stress of travel- now we think they probably had "red leg syndrome" (see picture). However a few weeks later other newts started to develop skin lesions (picture enclosed). The sender recommended to use sulfamerazine and we have treated them 2x and we are not sure they are all recovering. Does anyone have any experience with P. waltl diseases and could give some input on this? Any input would be greatly appreciated! Thank you.
