Hi! I've been wanting another axolotl for a while now but I've been unsure if it's the best idea.
I currently have a wild type, I'm assuming he is a male(from the look of his back end I would say he's male) and he's about 6 inches and about a year old(he's always been small but believe it or not he's still growing lol.) I have him in a 20 gallon tank(2feet long). So far I've had no problems with him or the cycle of his tank but of course if I got another axolotl I'd get them a larger tank.
I was just curious if there was anyway I'd be able to 'test' if he'd get along with another axie. I would like a leucistic but I've read that leucistics and wild types dont get along well. Does anyone have experience with this? Should I get another wildtype?
I would just hate to buy a whole new set up and another axolotl and find out that Loki doesn't get along with him.
