This is really off topic, but I noticed there are lots of people from New Zealand in this forum and I wanted to ask you all about New Zealand. I am an American who's interested in visiting your beautiful country. I want to know anything anyone is willing to share about New Zealand. I want to know about its natural settings, economy, people, attitudes, religion, politics, culture, anything important.

I'm interested in New Zealand because from what I've seen in books and stuff, parts of it looks like an unspoiled Eastern United States. I've read that New Zealand has a high level of satisfaction with life, 1/3 of it is protected land, the people speak English, and not as many people hate New Zealand as hate America. After college, I'd like to come visit but am not sure where the best places are. Sadly, there arent' many resources on New Zealand in my library.

Thanks!

I would also love to hear about New Zealand. There is amazing wildlife endemic to the country and it seems really beautiful there. I have a friend that is planning on emigrating there within the next five years and I know I will be visiting her.

Dear All, I would appreciate some help identifying P. waltl disease and treatment. We received newts from Europe early November and a few maybe 3/70 had what it looked like lesions under the legs- at that time we thought maybe it was the stress of travel- now we think they probably had "red leg syndrome" (see picture). However a few weeks later other newts started to develop skin lesions (picture enclosed). The sender recommended to use sulfamerazine and we have treated them 2x and we are not sure they are all recovering. Does anyone have any experience with P. waltl diseases and could give some input on this? Any input would be greatly appreciated! Thank you.
