Anqui, Aitic, Nitemiqui and Tonalli

I think it's time to show my 375l (about 99 gallon) tank. I use spongefilters (HMF, short for Hamburger Mattenfilter) and small gravel with 1 - 2 mm.

I built hiding places using tubes for catfish and stones.

This is Anqui, my little clown.

Nitemiqui is the smallest.

Aitic (left) is the biggest, though they are all the same age. Tonalli is my goldie. This is the last picture while they were still under quarantine last week.

Beautiful tank and axolotls! Use caution with the substrate because they can still develop a blockage from ingesting it. The substrate is much larger than sand, which is regarded as the only safe substrate.
If you keep your substrate, monitor closely and try to train them to eat from a dish or in a feeding jar.

Thanks for the advice! The gravel looks way bigger on the pictures than it really is. They are eating snails that are bigger. It's even smaller than the special Axolotl gravel that is considered in the best known german-speaking axie-forum…

My last axies sat on this kind of gravel for six years and it never caused constipation, though one of them loved to dig for snails and ate a lot of gravel.

I feed them earthworms from tweezers, so they hardly ever swallow gravel. Of course I'm aware that every swallowed substrate could cause problems, so I watch them closely.
