Announcing the birth of "Nugget"

The first of our purchased axolotl eggs hatched this evening. They were quite active today with lots of movement and I expected that they would probably hatch out tomorrow but one beat me to the punch.

I turned on the bathroom light and saw a dark green axolotl zipping around. Photos are up in my blog. It's about the best that my camera can capture on something so small.

Aww thats so neat & tiny! I can't wait to breed mine I got 5 hehe I'm still deciding on 6. I got my aquarium chiller now to breed them Great photos I went thru yur whole blog good reading *thumbs up*
