Very cool. Erik, if you're still in Tottori, be sure not to miss the Hanzaki Center in neighboring Shimane Prefecture. You also might want to visit the Himeji City Aquarium, where there is a Andrias documentation center and lots to see
Its director, Takeyoshi Tochimoto, is an authority on giant salamanders.

I just saw them for the first time at the Detroit Zoo last week. Amazing animals.
