Hey all!

I haven't posted here in a while, but am happy to say that me and my spotted salamander, Pascal, have been doing well! They've been living with me happily for 14 months at this point, but I noticed that they became a bit more rotund once the late spring/early summer hit!

There are two reasons I am going with:
1. The slugs are back and Pascal LOVES to eat slugs
2. Pascal is actually female and is gravid with eggs!

Here are some pictures I took of them during recent cleaning/upkeeping of their vivarium. I sadly couldn't get any under the tail since Pascal does not take kindly to being upside down, but it didn't seem to be swollen? That and their general body shape makes me think they might be female. I do suspect they are a bit overweight regardless, so I've toned down their feeding schedule a bit since June.

EDIT: Also, I heard if a Spotted Salamander is gravid, but does not lay the eggs, they just absorb them without issue. Is that true? I just want to make sure they don't have any lasting health issues if they aren't able to lay their eggs.
