These poor guys don't get much attention here. Thought I would post a few pictures that I had from exploring in Michigan earlier in the year.

That's right in my eye.. nice animals. When did you see them spring time , fall or daylight ??
 
Are these pictures of three different salamanders or of the same one? Great pics!
 
Thanks all. I believe those pictures were all of the same salamander. I took those pictures back in May, which is a month or so after their breeding season here ends. I tend to find these animals in low quantities throughout the year, except for winter. I don't think they go as far underground hiding as many of the other mole salamanders do. It was daytime.
 
personally i think they are prettier than tigers, but then again i like the color blue

    Dear All, I would appreciate some help identifying P. waltl disease and treatment. We received newts from Europe early November and a few maybe 3/70 had what it looked like lesions under the legs- at that time we thought maybe it was the stress of travel- now we think they probably had "red leg syndrome" (see picture). However a few weeks later other newts started to develop skin lesions (picture enclosed). The sender recommended to use sulfamerazine and we have treated them 2x and we are not sure they are all recovering. Does anyone have any experience with P. waltl diseases and could give some input on this? Any input would be greatly appreciated! Thank you.
