Aww! I love turtles! How cute are they?

I think, well Im almost sure its a male female pair.

Eastern box turtles, right? I believe the males have red eyes, whereas females don't. Must've been exciting to find two in such close proximity; I have a hard enough time encountering even one!

Yup, but I have come across different sexes with different colored eyes before.

The sure shot is the plastron, size ( if age can be told ) and tail length and width. This little male has very light eyes but Im positive its a male.

I come across at least one each time I go into the woods which is almost everyday cause I take the dog into the woods for walks. Sometimes up to three turtles. This place is loaded with them.

Those Terrapene carolina carolina are just gorgeous!:lick:

Those are nice Ihave a heard of them in my back yard

Dear All, I would appreciate some help identifying P. waltl disease and treatment. We received newts from Europe early November and a few maybe 3/70 had what it looked like lesions under the legs- at that time we thought maybe it was the stress of travel- now we think they probably had "red leg syndrome" (see picture). However a few weeks later other newts started to develop skin lesions (picture enclosed). The sender recommended to use sulfamerazine and we have treated them 2x and we are not sure they are all recovering. Does anyone have any experience with P. waltl diseases and could give some input on this? Any input would be greatly appreciated! Thank you.
