I've been taking pictures of my lovely melanoid but I also got some wilds from ChameleonCans today. Plus I wanted to share pictures of my other lotls from Margie, so I'm making one post for all my axolotl pictures! Please hold your applause until the end.

With that said, I'll start with some pictures of the new bunch.

The one above is of the wild next to the melanoid(they're in the QT tank together)

And here's the melanoid finding a place of his own to chill

I may dig up some pictures from the others from Margie when I first got them and I'll post more as they come. I'm also going to be moving some of the wilds into a second QT tank. With the melanoid changing colors so dramatically from substrate color, I'm very curious to see if there would be any changes for them. I'll be getting some white sand and some black sand and will take lots of pictures to show you all!

Oh my :) Why did they make axolotls so cute!

Oh no, tiny cuties! I just love axolotls when they're that teeny.

As much as I love how cute the babies are, I can hardly wait until they're bigger. I imagine at the very least it will make them easier to photograph!

As a newbie....only had my babies since Boxing day, hatched from my adult Wild type, how long is it before they start to get their legs? At the moment they are about an inch long, with lovely long gills.........

Your babies are SOOOOOOOO incredibly cute......I love them.

Dear All, I would appreciate some help identifying P. waltl disease and treatment. We received newts from Europe early November and a few maybe 3/70 had what it looked like lesions under the legs- at that time we thought maybe it was the stress of travel- now we think they probably had "red leg syndrome" (see picture). However a few weeks later other newts started to develop skin lesions (picture enclosed). The sender recommended to use sulfamerazine and we have treated them 2x and we are not sure they are all recovering. Does anyone have any experience with P. waltl diseases and could give some input on this? Any input would be greatly appreciated! Thank you.

sorry I am having a hard time trying to upload the pictures- I have them saved on my hard drive... any suggestions-the prompts here are not allowing for downloads that way as far as I can tell. Thanks
