Hey guys! I'm just in the finishing stages in cycling my tank and I noticed I have green algae on my rock decoration and a couple plastic plants. I also noticed that my boyfriend left the light on for a few days and we all know algae loves light. Any tips on how to get rid of it without crashing my cycle and starting over?

A complete blackout for several days may help. Switch off tank lights and cover your tank to ensure that no light source is available for the algae. usually you can see an improvement in around 3 days. This won't have a negative impact on your tank cycling.

Thanks Donna! I turned the light off yesterday and I always keep the blinds closed in there. I will cover it with a beach towel too to make sure no light gets in!
