hello all i was wondeing if anyone knew of any kind of algae eater that would be good to put into a tank with 2 paddltail newts? the tank is 45 gallons. please let me know

With that species of newt, I don't think you have an option of putting anything else in with them. They will attack anything and everything that is put in that tank.

i have a big padlletail newt, and i have 12 guppies along with 2 little firebellies...never had a problem :/ had em for a year now in a huge tank

You're the exception, not the rule. Sooner or later, your paddletails will eat everything else in the tank.

Not to mention, algae eaters are warm-water fish, while Pachytriton prefer much colder water.

Would some sort of snail be alright? I know that some (or all) species can breed like crazy, and eat eggs, but I wouldn't think eggs would be an issue with paddletails. I haven't heard of paddletails eating snails before

paddletails will eat anything and everything they can find.

Paddle tails definitely eat snails!
