To say I've had a fortnight from hell would be an understatement! Last week I fractured my knee, one of the lotls lost a leg due to a very naughty tankmate (mum is not impressed.) and this week my partner was assaulted! Not a very happy new year. Due to my recent injury I've been pretty much housebound for the past week, it gets very tedious, very quickly... To pass the time I decided to have a play with my camera, taking pictures of pretty much everything. I didn't really want to take axolotl pictures as the outside of my tanks are covered in watermarks right now! Not attractive I thought, until I captured this..

...I just thought the unsightly marks turned out to look rather pretty. Almost like glitter or light rays! But that could just be me :lame::lol: Anywho, my Alchemy always puts a smile on my face..

Oh poor you
A fractured knee is definitely no fun!

I hope your partner is ok :( it is a sad new world we are living in where people now face vicious assaults for no reason!

Personal story -
mainly to give you a laugh.....
I've personally had a man try & road rage bash me at a set of lights 0.0
I was driving a very nice car (BoxsterS) & hadn't provoked him at all - in the end I shocked him because he hadn't counted on me being 6'1" in heels & at the end of a particularly long hard day - he got out of his car & rushed up towards mine - not one to want to be unable to defend myself from inside the vehicle I too got out - he kind of slowed as he wasn't expecting that - he stopped dead when I bashed my chest like an angry Gorilla & yelled at him "what's your F'in problem C?" With a few strong expletives inserted!
The poor guy freaked out, got in his car & drove through the red light! (I must be scary 0.0) as I got back into my car I noticed the nice gentleman in a car in the next lane had half gotten out of his car to help me, he looked over & laughed saying it was good to see a young lady who can look after herself
I still wonder what would've happened had I not turned on the psycho - it's ridiculous that a human would even think about intimidating or assaulting anyone for no reason!

I hope you all make a full recovery soon & I'm glad you've got lots of tanks full of happy faces to keep you company :)

Keep fiddling with the camera & don't touch the water marks - it's a heavenly haze it adds to alchemy's picture :D

Love it!

I wish I was able to make axie pictures right now.
At this very moment a huge 'crowd' of planaria is chilling on the inside of my tank. Looks like my tank is extremely dusty all the times. :(

I love the picture, it looks really mysterious and peaceful.
I love the axie's name too!

Thank you everybody and thank you very much Nikki. This guy just turned on my fella for no reason whatsoever! It's like some people don't have any fear anymore, of other people, the authorities, etc. I wouldn't mind but my boyfriends 6'6 and built like a sh*t house!

Those idiots have no fear & no respect for anything! Rules, authorities they treat it with utter destain

I hope your guy makes a full recovery :) did the offender get caught (hoping so!) if he did I hope he gets the book thrown at him!

Hope you make a fast recovery too Dinky! Did you get plaster or a fancy leg boot with knee brace? Either way it sucks - could be worse though, lucky you didn't do it in summer ;)

Apparently they're looking for the guy as we speak and he's a reoffender! Obviously just an absolute idiot. I've been in a splint for nearly a fortnight - an absolute nightmare if you've got tanks and such low down! But you're right about it not being summer, we've had a ton of snow here so I was unlikely to venture out without good reason anyway! ;) Thanks for your support babe!

Sadly they probably turned on him because he is 6' 6 with tank like dimensions. My 'little' (ahem) brother is in the same boat, he's also 6'6 and 'built', with the added advantage of being a blackbelt.

It is usually individuals challenged in both the brain and genitalia department, the funniest one I saw was a guy who was about 5' 1 try and take my brother on in a nightclub, my brother just stood there with one hand on the guys forehead holding him at arms length. The guy punched air and my brother continued supping his pint as if nothing was happening!

Nightmare about the knee, everything in my household with limbs and digits has them crossed for you that your recovery is speedy xoxoxox

Dear All, I would appreciate some help identifying P. waltl disease and treatment. We received newts from Europe early November and a few maybe 3/70 had what it looked like lesions under the legs- at that time we thought maybe it was the stress of travel- now we think they probably had "red leg syndrome" (see picture). However a few weeks later other newts started to develop skin lesions (picture enclosed). The sender recommended to use sulfamerazine and we have treated them 2x and we are not sure they are all recovering. Does anyone have any experience with P. waltl diseases and could give some input on this? Any input would be greatly appreciated! Thank you.
