I have to add a different substance to the bottom of the tank cause i have reseached that the rocks that i have are not good if eaten (the pet shop said it will be fine) but after i did research i realised it wasnt fine.. if i am going to add sand to the bottom do i have to take the axies out? what type of sand should i get? do i also get the blood worms oout straight away after eating? do the make the water go bad? can i just put bigger rocks ntop of the little ones?? whats the best to do??

It would be best to remove the axies to a seperate container while you switch everything out. You can use regular play sand. Just remember to rinse the sand, then rinse it some more, then again, and just when you think you've rinsed it enough....rinse it again. To make the switch, turn off your filter then take out ALL the rocks. After you've removed all of the rocks then you can begin slowly (if you just dump it in all at once you're going to get soaked) adding the sand. Try to keep the depth of the sand to around half an inch to prevent harmful gas bubbles from forming in the future. Leave your filter off for a few hours while the sand settles.

In regards to the bloodworms, remove them after 30 minutes to prevent them from fouling the water.

thanks :) so how long will the be ok in a bare bottomed tank..
i have already taken them out today so if i buy sand 2mra and take them back out will be to stressful??
wait a week r so before i take them out again to add sand

Leaving them on a bare bottom is prefectly fine, indefinitely.
