Here's his set up now:

So, the other day, i found this really cool marble rock tunnel at my pet store, reasonably priced. So i'm like, "cool! Acheron will love hiding in this!" So i pick up, bring it home, and throw it in there. (see pic above) Tonight i come home to find him properly squished into my Cambodian head sculpture. sigh.... LOL

I am curious as to where you were able to get a leucistic in california? Did you have to special order him? He's very cute.

I live in Sacramento, I have two Whites with black eyes, a Black, a wild type and a gold. All but one I had to order from outside Cali

Petstops here in Cali it seems mostly get gold or wild type.

I think it's cute how your little guy wedged himself up in his little house lol. So funny!

Ur axi looks so healty and cute, hes very cute.. :D but im not crazy about the plastic things..

Hayley, must be from someone who knows Amanda and doesn't like Axolotls. Well if that's the case, shame on them, Axies are great!

LOL Yeah, Yvette is a good family friend. I sent this link to my mom so she could see how my "monster" was doing. I'm the weird child

Rheann - actually, i live right outside of Eureka and go to Humboldt State. One of the classes up here observes the development in axolotls, but when they're done with them, they have nothing to do with them. They cannot sell the guys, because they acquire them through a nonprofit org (i'm gonna check and see if they get them from the Indiana group). So, they let the science majors know that the axolotl's are free to anyone who wants one. You pick them up from the teacher, and he gives you some basic info about them (requirements, etc.) Since they are still babies when you show up, you basically have your choice of "white" or "brown". I chose white, cause i could see through his body. (Hence Yvette's comment, lol) They offer the class up here every spring, and if you're interested, i can keep an out for them, come March.

LoL That's very nice of you, Amanda

But I have five Axies already and no room for any more at the moment. If I move into a house or something by next year, I might try and get one or two more, but 5 is enough for me.

I appreciate it though

your setup looks very nice Amanda your 2nd pic is cute, looks like your axie has a mask on

S/he is so cute. I really love your tank, I'm thinking of changing mine slightly cause everyone seems to be getting new ones with great new ideas.

Maybe an aztec theme?...hmmm...

Just noticed that we can see you taking the pic! lol
