Today while I was at school, the air conditioner broke at my house and the temps shot to the 90's. My poor red efts couldn't take the heat and they were fried. It really stinks because they were super intersting and I have never seen them anywhere else.

:(

My own red eft died last week...However the AC was at 72 and there was a fan blowing. I think he got too dry, though...

It's quite sad...

My AC went out, while in TX, it was 105-106 everyday. I am lucky to work from home and I waited for the part one week.... was a nightmare... Anyway, ice, icepacks, non stop....I managed to keep my marbled newt alive, my spotted salamander and my Chinese warty newt.... house was in the 90's.... I am so sorry about your loss...

Never keep a Noto eft or any kind of eft in such heat. I've only seen Noto efts out in damp and cool situations. I've uncovered Michigan Noto efts in damp wet hides and I remember checking the temperature. The temperature was in the low 60's. I've seen and heard of efts dying because of heat. Sad way to go out. If you guys have more Noto efts or will get more please keep them cool and moist. Think about their natural preferences and where they would be in the wild and why you would find them there. Then simulate that exact habitat. Copy the temperature, moisture, humidity, and substrate. Good luck guys.

Sorry for the HUGE delay in my posts. My efts were kept cool and damp. The temp. in their tank was never over 75F. It was kinda a freak accident that my heater broke on 100F day...
