The species were: Rana iberica, Lacerta schreiberi ( young ), Psammodromus algirus, Natrix maura and Rana perezi, Elaphe scalaris ( death )

In the ponds ( completely dry in september ) breeds Pleurodeles waltl, Lissotriton boscai, Triturus pygmaeus and Salamandra s. bejarae.

Nice pictures, did you save the frog or did you let nature do it's work and photograph the whole part? I would like to see how a Natrix maura finishes when starting at the back end of a Rana perezi....

I let nature do his work, but when I approached to the natrix maura, she tried to escape.

And then I thought

I'm contributing to overpopulation of common frogs? when it was the last lunch of the natrix?

I had the same experience once ion the Coto donana. There I heard a Pelobates cultripes screaming (yes!) and I found it while a Natrix maura was trying to eat it by the hind legs. But because I disturbed her she let go of the Pelobates. And I was of course too late to make a pciture..I only have a nice picture of them along side of each other pretending like nothing happened ;-)

I would think that it was hard for that snake. I would think the frog would jump around a lot, and kick down the snakes throat, but i suppose the snake knows what it doing.
