A new discovery!

My little larvae have just discovered the wonderful world of up and down!

Until now they have circled round the bottom of their tubs, lifting just a milimetre or 2 to swim. But the largest of them seem to have discovered that there is a 3rd dimension of vertical, and have decided to swim up and down instead of just round and round! They are sitting in the weeds close to the surface, swimming up to the surface and back down again.

Is it a little bit sad that I'm excited by this?!

It is exciting! Soon they'll be stalking you around. I remember when my hatchlings first started acknowledging me. Some would swim up whenever I walked over and would "follow" me around. I said "They know me!!" And my husband told me "yeah, as the bringer of food." Good enough for me!
