Hi Clare, they are very secretive salamanders so they tend to stay hidden. I check on them every few months and I get to see their faces when they snatch food from the mouth of their hides.

Nice to see a sal fan from across the bridge

Wow! Mark! It's so cute!!! I also just got a small one recently, hope he will be as good looking as yours when he grows up!

By the way, Mark, may i ask what's the moss in the pictures? It looks so beautiful, does it need to keep under lighting?

Thanks!

Hi Mark,
I just picked up my guy tonight and I have to say he is truly gorgeous. The guy also had orange phase fire sals but with Christmas on the doorstep my budget couldn't be extended.

Where is the best place to buy CB sals in the UK???

I have a similar kind (maybe same kind but looks a little different) of moss and it doesn't get that much lighting but grows okay and stays alive.

Dear All, I would appreciate some help identifying P. waltl disease and treatment. We received newts from Europe early November and a few maybe 3/70 had what it looked like lesions under the legs- at that time we thought maybe it was the stress of travel- now we think they probably had "red leg syndrome" (see picture). However a few weeks later other newts started to develop skin lesions (picture enclosed). The sender recommended to use sulfamerazine and we have treated them 2x and we are not sure they are all recovering. Does anyone have any experience with P. waltl diseases and could give some input on this? Any input would be greatly appreciated! Thank you.

sorry I am having a hard time trying to upload the pictures- I have them saved on my hard drive... any suggestions-the prompts here are not allowing for downloads that way as far as I can tell. Thanks
