I am wondering on what i can use to put in my tank that i keep my larvae in for him to crawl up on and use when he starts to morph. wanting some thing cheap and easy or what can you use that most wouldnt think of. or just tell me what you use in your own tanks. thanks.

The cheapest (if it's a small tank) is to tilt it on an angle so one side is dry.

its 20gal with about a little less than 3/4 full like is the some thing that can float or something

You're going to need to put a morphing larva into a really shallow setup with a LOT of haul-out points: corkbark, floating plants, etc. A new metamorph will probably drown in a setup like yours.

yeah its gonna be awhile till he morphs though but i was just wondering so i would be prepd. thanks for the info though:D

Dear All, I would appreciate some help identifying P. waltl disease and treatment. We received newts from Europe early November and a few maybe 3/70 had what it looked like lesions under the legs- at that time we thought maybe it was the stress of travel- now we think they probably had "red leg syndrome" (see picture). However a few weeks later other newts started to develop skin lesions (picture enclosed). The sender recommended to use sulfamerazine and we have treated them 2x and we are not sure they are all recovering. Does anyone have any experience with P. waltl diseases and could give some input on this? Any input would be greatly appreciated! Thank you.

sorry I am having a hard time trying to upload the pictures- I have them saved on my hard drive... any suggestions-the prompts here are not allowing for downloads that way as far as I can tell. Thanks
