I originally had a 50 gallon long (48" x 12" x 18"H) for my 2 axies. Since acquiring 2 more axies, I've upgraded my tank to a 93 gallon acrylic, almost doubling the footprint. It's 60" L x 18" D x 20" H. I'm hoping that my xmas moss wall will turn out soon enough. Wondering what everyone thinks of my current set-up

looks good, my wife would kill me if i asked for a 5 foot tank :)

The only thing i would say is to add some some darker, cosier, more "hidable" hides

Remember that -

1 no eyelids, so the light is annoying for them :)

2 As far as they are concerned, we kinda look like 6 foot tall predators peering in at them. So giving them a place to hide from light and people traffic might be nice.

Having said that, my guys are in the main living area, and they seem to ignore us as we move about. I do have a couple of really good fake rock caves in there, and they tend to like to sit in there and just peer out until we go to bed, then it's axie party / plant wrecking time

Where is the moss wall, i couldn't see it? i put some in about 6 weeks ago, it's starting to grow out a little now

Love it! Wish my fiance would of let me get something that big! You should try a moss floor!

Wow, nice!! I like the idea of the platform areas. I've been trying to work out how I was going to do one in my tank.

Wish my partner would allow me to get such a big tank! :)

The day after I took those photo's I added some of their other hides I'd forgotten about. Thing is, whenever I do come in the room, regardless of whether they've just been fed or not, they'll always follow me around, as opposed to hide.

I was wondering if there were any other plants I could add that they won't destroy? I had java fern in there, but didn't like it, same with the java moss. My water lettuce is growing like crazy, but the xmas moss wall hasn't started growing through yet, soon hopefully!

I think it looks like a great place for a bunch of Axies to live in, good work!

I think you will find that the Mosswall will take all eternity to grow out, in a lowlight environment like that hehe.
I sometimes do mosswalls for small 5-10G shrimp tanks, and they can easily take as much as 6 months to look nice, even under heavy light, fertilizing and co2 addition.

Awesome tank.

Yeah java moss grows SLOOOOOOOOOOWWWWWWWLLLLLLLYYYYYY
