Well i am finally going from a 3ft to a 6ft tank.
I got tank 4 weeks ago, starting cycling , so far so good.
Temp is 15c on average day,ph is 7.8 all other water paramters within normal level.
Have a nice setup and will post photos soon.
Have broad leaved real plants/fake floating/and real reed and grasses.
4 pvc tubes at odd lenghts/bare bottom but(large glass balls/ping pong balls/and very large glass marbles.
Have made a slate cave at very rear back,i know hagrid will like.
Well this is the question,
I plan to put hagrid and norman in there next weekend/I have had 2 of my previous babies in a holding tank for 1 week they are now 7 weeks old,if i place hagrid and norman in new tank 6ft can i then [place babies in there old 3ft tank straight away,i had the option of 4 but only choose 2 as i think with my little experiance this is the most i can handle at the moment.
At what age could i put all in same tank,i wold like to reset up 3ft tank for green tree frogs.
can anyone give me a idea.

Hi Catherine,

I think its more of a size issue rather than age although one can determine the other.

The axies you are going to put together should be around the same size so that the smaller ones don't get mistaken for food or be subjected to bullying. That having been said a 6 foot tank has plenty of space for them to get away from each other.

I have 3 axies in a 4 foot tank 23cm, 19cm and 16cm and no dramas to this date.

Good Luck

At present I have an adult male ( now measuring 32 cm) plus 11 of his off spring. I will soon re-home maybe 5 of them. With the remaining 6 I am aiming to keep maybe 2 to join him in the future. I believe he is approx 15 months old, so its a long term plan. I firstly aim to keep only 2 of the male off spring as I have no intention of them re-producing again. Jeffrey was clearly male at approx 6 months of age, so hopefully the first step for me is to determine which ones are the males..then from then onwards its a waiting game for them to catch up to him in size..I was looking at approx a year ( eggs laid start of Aug,) .
This of course could change, especially if I find a hansome leucistic male..or I get tempted by any other of the wonderful caudates that are around!!!
