Question: 55 long or 40 breeder better setup?

Is a 55(48 by 12) better than a 40(36x18) breeder for 4 axolotls? I hate how much space I'm losing in height with the 55 long but they can space out more it seems in it. Just wondering peoples preferences.

It's what you're comfortable with, a normal rule of thumb to go by is 10 gallons per axie, some people choose to do 20 per axie so it's truly dependent on you personal opinion, but both are perfectly fine.
I say go with the one that has more floor space so your axies can move around
