55 gallon tank question

There is this 55 gallon tank that is available for a good price but I am not sure it will work out good for my newts and I. I have dobros. The tank is about 4 feet long by 1 foot wide by 2 foot high. I dont like half-filled tanks. They just dont look that nice. I would fill it 2/3 or preferably 3/4 full of water. Would that be too deep for dobros(danube crested newts)? Also is it hard to clean with a turkey baster? I would think since it is pretty tall and narrow it is/could be hard to clean.

You'd probably need a siphon for that tank. They aren't that expensive; maybe $10?
