55 gallon paddletail aquarium

Hey everyone this is my new 55 gallon paddletails' aquarium. It has two filters, a piece lily, 2 water hyacinths, two male paddletails, two female paddletails, and of course lots of hiding spots. They have all gotten along with no problems and no attacks that I have noticed. Let me know if you have any questions, comments, or concerns.

The tank is nice, but not the most adapted for paddletails.

To my mind, you don't have enough hiding places for 4 paddletails in this tank ; it's a little empty.
You should put more rocks, in the left part for example.

Keep in mind Paddletails are very territorials and agressive newts ; two males in the same aquarium... It's risky.
Even in a big tank full of hiding places, there are fights and cohabitation is impossible. Especially between males, but sometimes between females. A lot of people tried, a lot of people failed.

Thanks Fred. I will be adding more rocks to the left side of the tank it is just all I had to work with for now. I have had these guys for able 3 years and I have found that they are only aggressive when they don't have somewhere to keep out of sight of the other ones. They typically like to hide down between the sides of the tank between rocks and I haven't seen any signs of aggressive or bite marks yet.

To alexps I was not planning on adding more plants just probably more rocks because I think it would mimic the paddletails natural habitat of the mountains of China.

I will post more pictures when I add some hiding spots

Needs more caves and more hides. Try some upside down clay pots with holes cut out and sanded smooth were the pot meets the gravel.

Try having some well-shaded areas too, one of mine likes to sit in dark areas most of the time
