Currently I am housing my 4 S.s.gallaica, and 5 T.marmoratus in sterilite bins. Someone is giving me a 55gal tank for free. I am wondering which species would benefit the most from the 48'' long lenght. I have a couple of 29 gallon tanks I can use. Both the T marms, and the gallaica look to grow to the same lenght of about 7-8''. My uneducated guess is to put the gallaica in the 55 gallon and the marms in a 29 gallon tank. Please correct me if my thinking is wrong. I want to maximize the 55 for the best possible use.

Thanks

That´s what i would do.
Salamandra salamandra is a territorial creature, so they will benefit from all that space. You can provide many hides and a gradient of humidity so that each individual can have its own areas. The T.marmoratus should do fine in the 29g, although when they reach their full length they might be a bit crowded.

PS: I hope you don´t mind but i edited your post. It´s not galactica, it´s gallaica.

That sounds like good advice. Right now the T marms are only 4'' long. So if I need to get something bigger I do have some time. Plus I like the idea of having a large planted terranium for the gallaica. They are incredible just in a sterilite bin. I really want to see more of them. Though the marms are gorgeous too.....
