Hello everyone, I recently bought a 40 gallon breeder because they were on a dollar per gallon sale. I want to make a semi-aquatic setup for my Notophthalmus with 1/4-1/3 land. The problem is that I don't want any permanent chugs with silicone. I want a nice island that can be taken out if I want to change things up a bit. Thanks.

I would use a 12x12-inch piece of slate and some bricks. Put some silk plants over it to look more natural.

I've used chunks of styrofoam shaped from low to high. One I weighted using a hole in the base and one I stuck down with a couple of spots of Silicone. Both were unsatisfactory until sealed around the "waters edge" with Silicone. It wasn't to hard to remove just the bead after wards.
So in other words.... I don't know. Jenn's probably got the right idea.
