Hello, I am a new member to this forum. I have about 2 years experience with my male Gfp Melanoid albino axolotl. He is my absolute prize. We got him from a reptile expo (he was a surprise to me) anywho. He has not eaten in about 4 weeks. I haven't the slightest idea why. I have asked so many groups on FB and I'm not really getting much feedback. I have tried different foods such as:
Red wrigglers
Night crawlers
Blood worms and brine shrimp
Hikari carnivore sinking pellets
Worms in garlic technique to entice appetite and eating
Repashy grub pie
NOTHING worked. Just ONCE he sucked in a pellet and spat it out.
His water levels are ph 7.4
High range 7.6
Ammonia and nitrite are 0ppm
Nitrate is 10ppm
Temp 60°
He was on very fine sand for months but changed it to a loss carpet (been on it for a few days)
20 gallon low tank, he is the only one.
Someone told me to just treat for parasites with praziPro since it's just worth it at this point?
He doesn't seem to have lost weight by much?
At this point I'm contemplating a vet visit if I can find one around here and hopefully COVID wont make this complicated.
