So i've got the "bug" and happen to have an old unused 35 gal long tank. Kinda wanted to do something a little different looking so I thought I'd try my hand at a peninsular style setup.
Pretty much standard stuff....(foam, GS, cement) are being used for the project.

Basic structure....

.....Updates to come!

Wow this looks amazing! I can't wait to see it finished!

I don't have any occupants planned as of yet, would like to get a few Notos but im not sure.

That most of took along time! I like the style! You are so good you could sell them!

Looks great! What kind of material did you use for the base? foam board? What did you use for the gray texturing on the last pictures and did you use a coat layer? I a interested in making my own decorations for my setup I have just been concerned with chemicals in the water that could be harmful. Did you have those concerns?

Yea just standard polystyrene sheets covered in Cement. Ive used the cement in the past with no harmful reactions from inhabitants, PH was an obvious concern, after filling and draining the tank multiple times it evened out.

I've had the tank setup for a while now, still letting plants fill it out a bit. I'll be sure to post some pics soon. :)

Yes, im still waiting on some plants to arrive, so ill show more pics when i get them.:D

Here's a little preview...

Closeup shot of the filter output (hidden but that's the point) :p

Looks awesome, very nice build. How many tanks have you made?

This is the largest I've made, i mostly stick with 10 ~ 20 gals. I wanna say I've made (maybe) 9 or 10, mostly dry terrestrial setups for other critters (inverts or reptiles).

Beautiful, man. I have considered doing something similar with a wide, flat piece of mopani I have. Just can't figure out the best way to hollow it out on the concave side.
