Hey everyone,
New owner of a 5 inch leucistic Axolotl that has been living in bare bottom 10 gal filled 3/4 way and a sponge filter, temperature at 64 degrees consistent and water changes daily with prime, while my 20 gal long cycles. The 20gal has a fluval 207 with spray bar and a sponge filter as well. My question is the cycle hasn’t been going on for that long and I have a spare 29 gallon tall tank laying around that’s not getting used should I switch out the 20 gal long for the 29 gal for my leucistic? What would be some pros and cons of using the bigger tank?

the biggest pro to having a larger tank is that your axolotl will have more room to roam, other pros are.. nitrates will be lower, it will take longer for ammonia etc.. to build up if there is a problem etc., takes longer to warm up in instance of heat wave, bigger ornaments/hides/caves can be used.
cons are.. bigger filter required, harder to cool down, larger water changes required, in effect the larger the tank the more work required.
