I'm just curious if anyone could help me decipher what colour this little fella might be. Currently can't get a pic but will do tomorrow if needed. In previous pics he's been a sort of brown colour but with the naked eye he looks white with a spattering of black dots on his head and body. He has leg stumps now that are white. The bigger he's getting the more white he is looking but like I said, there are black dots all along his body. Could I tell the difference between a wild and leucistic at this length (~2cm) or would I have to wait a bit longer? I'm just curious really as his sibling died at this length but was definitely brown. His belly is also see through as you can see the massive daphnia he has recently eaten :p

From your description, I would guess leucistic because of all the white you are mentioning. Typically, wilds don't show much if any white except on their undersides. Sounds cute! I would hope he'd keep those freckles! :D

Ooh goody :) I thought he might be but wasn't sure. Thanks :D

Leucistics usually start out looking like wildtypes, but as they grow, the freckles don't migrate along the sides of the body. So they just get freckles along the spine and their face. These may change as he grows too. He might get more, or they might disappear.
